You keep your accounts. Nothing to migrate, nothing to rebuild.

Right now

Your books are in nine places and none of them agree.

Receipts in a drawer. A spreadsheet nobody trusts. Transactions nobody has looked at since spring. It is not that the work is hard. It is that nothing is in one place.

How it gets away from you

One missed week turns into six months.

You meant to stay on top of it. Then a job ran long. Then it was three weeks. Then you stopped opening the app at all. Not because the work is hard — because you have a business to run, and this is exactly the kind of work that waits quietly.

01
Decisions run blindPricing, hiring, and spending calls made without knowing what last month actually earned.
02
Tax season becomes a scrambleMonths of catch-up compressed into the weeks when deadlines are hardest and help is most expensive.
03
Surprises hit hardA tax bill, a bounced payment, a vendor never invoiced. Whatever the books were not watching lands all at once.
04
Nobody is really watchingAnd if the one person who knew your books moves on, everything they knew leaves with them.

General patterns in small business bookkeeping, not measurements of any Scouq customer.

A month with Scouq

What happens between the first and the fifth.

All month
Transactions sort themselvesMoney in and out flows into the books as it happens. Anything unclear becomes one question on your phone. Three taps, done.
The 1st
Every account matched to the statementBank, cards, and loans reconciled to the penny. Depreciation, loan splits, and prepaids handled, which is exactly what cheap bookkeeping skips.
The 3rd
Every check passes, or the month does not closeThirteen checks run against the month. A person works through the flags and signs the close, name and date.
The 5th
Statements land, in plain EnglishProfit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and a short note on what actually happened. Most bookkeepers deliver two to four weeks after month end.
Every month after
Fewer questions each monthEverything you tell Scouq gets written down and stays. Month one might bring fifteen questions. By month six it is usually two or three.
Why the numbers are right

The month does not close unless it ties.

01
Matched to the pennyEvery account reconciles to exactly zero variance, or nothing is delivered. Not close. Zero.
02
Thirteen checks, every monthEach one passes or the close is blocked. Accuracy here is mechanical, not an adjective.
03
A person signs itA qualified reviewer works through every flag and signs the close, name and date. You can see who.
04
Every number shows its workEvery transaction carries why it was filed where it was, with the evidence attached.

And everything you tell us gets written down and stays. Bookkeeping firms lose what they know every time someone quits. Scouq does not forget.

Founding clients

We are taking 20 businesses to start.

Not a marketing number. It is how many first closes we can do perfectly while we learn what small businesses actually need from this. Founding clients get the price held for life, a direct line to the founder, and books done right from month one.

No account access. The result is yours either way.

From the founder

I started Scouq because owners deserve to know where they stand without becoming bookkeepers themselves. During the founding period I review every set of books personally and sign every close. That is not a temporary apology for the software — it is how the system earns the right to automate more.

Miles Dirmann · Founder, Scouq

Pricing

$349 a month.

Larger businesses pay more, scaled to transaction volume. No per-transaction fees, no charges for growing. If the books need catch-up first, that is quoted before anything starts.

Straight answers

The questions that actually matter.

01Do I have to leave QuickBooks?

No. QuickBooks Online or Xero stays your official ledger, and everything Scouq does lands in your file, not ours. Nothing to migrate, nothing to rebuild.

02What access do you need?

Read-only access to your ledger and bank feeds, revocable by you at any moment. Scouq can see records and can never move money.

03Is a real person actually looking at this?

Yes. Every month a qualified reviewer works through the flags and signs the close, name and date. During the founding period, that person is the founder.

04What if I am months behind?

Most founding clients are. We scope the catch-up from what is actually there, quote it once before anything starts, and then the monthly service keeps you current.

05What happens to my data if I leave?

Your ledger was always yours — it lives in QuickBooks or Xero. Disconnect any time and everything stays with you, including the documentation we filed.

06Do you do my taxes?

No. We make tax season easy for whoever does: clean books, a one-click CPA handoff, and 1099s already filed. Tax returns stay with your CPA.

07When can I start?

Scouq opens October 1, 2026, with 20 founding businesses — that is how many first closes we can do perfectly, and a bad first month would cost you more than the wait. Join the list and you hear first, in order.

Find out where your books actually stand.
